About CivicNetZero
Cities are on the front line of climate action. Most still struggle to turn ambition into investable, deliverable projects.
CivicNetZero is an agentic AI platform that connects cities, capital investors and delivery partners, turning climate ambition into structured, bankable project pipelines. An AI agent workforce does the administrative work of assessing projects, matching them to capital and delivery partners, and tracking deals through to execution.
The opportunity is significant. Over 12,000 cities globally meet the OECD definition of an eligible city, and the urban infrastructure investment gap is estimated at $15 trillion by 2040 (Oxford Economics, Global Infrastructure Hub). Most of that gap sits with cities that have the ambition but not the capacity to structure investable projects alone.
The platform is live. Pilots are active in Santiago, Freetown and Cumbria. Self-service is open now and cities are actively signing up. Paid subscriptions open from September 2026.
Why This Role, Why Now
This is CivicNetZero's first dedicated sales hire. Self-service is already generating registrations, with paid subscriptions from September 2026. The job is to convert that early interest into a paying customer base, and to build the relationships that bring the next wave of cities and city networks onto the platform.
What You'll Do
- Own the full sales cycle for city and city network sign-ups, from first contact to signed subscription
- Build and work a target list of local authorities, combined authorities and public sector networks
- Convert self-service registrations and free-tier sign-ups into paid subscribers
- Represent CivicNetZero at relevant public sector and net zero events, building pipeline and relationships
- Keep the CRM accurate: pipeline stage, next steps, forecast
- Give the CEO a simple, honest monthly forecast
What You'll Bring
Essential
- A proven record of closing deals with public sector organisations, ideally local government, combined authorities or similar bodies
- An existing network of public sector contacts you can activate quickly
- Comfortable working solo in an early-stage business, building your own process as you go
- Confidence selling a product that is still evolving, without a large team behind you
Desirable
- Experience selling energy services, decarbonisation or climate-related solutions into the public sector
- Experience with SaaS, platform or subscription-based sales
- Familiarity with HubSpot or a comparable CRM
What We Offer
- £60,000 base salary, £40,000 OTE, £100,000 total at target, uncapped commission
- A direct reporting line to the CEO, and real influence over how the sales function develops
- Remote-first working, UK-wide, with occasional travel to cities and events
- The chance to build the commercial engine of a platform addressing one of the most urgent infrastructure gaps globally, led by a founding team including Lord Marvin Rees OBE (Chair, former Mayor of Bristol) and Tom Ilube CBE
